Unrivalled knowledge and centuries of experience in supporting vulnerable people throughout Merseyside and beyond are brought together in the 800 Group.

In 2008 seven partners, with a combined heritage of 800 years, came together to share a single mission – to work together to improve services for vulnerable members of our community of all ages.

As individual health and social care agencies we have provided support for people over many years and now as a group we are committed to working collaboratively to develop services for the future. We each bring our respective strengths, understanding and insights to the partnership and aim to provide the highest levels of support for the people who rely on our services every day of the year.

The 800 Group was established in response to the Transformation Agenda for Health and Social Care Services. This initiative laid the foundations for organisations to work together and to form strategic partnerships, providing effective services which take advantage of shared expertise, costs and resources. Opportunities to develop meaningful, mutual benefits and to make positive, creative and innovative contributions to the personalisation agenda were also highlighted.

Supporting people and delivering quality services

Seven organisations realised the benefits of formal collaborative working and this led to the formation of the 800 Group. By combining our experience and resources to achieve this shared purpose we know that there will be considerable benefits for the people who use our services and for service commissioners.

The 800 Group will support the work of the seven partners and will also assist and embrace the many other voluntary, charity and faith organisations which provide services for vulnerable people in our communities. This approach is one of partnership and inclusion which will build strength and resources in our sector in the years ahead.
